Our Magical Guide to Leprechauns
Lucky the leprechaun has been our trusty mascot since the 1960’s, spreading magic and mischief with his Lucky Charms! But what is a leprechaun, exactly? If you’ve ever wondered where leprechauns come from, what they do and – more importantly – how to catch them, we’ve got the guide for you!
What is a leprechaun?
Leprechauns are mischievous little troublemakers, always looking for their next prank. They’re also known for their love of gold and their magic that they use to carry out their playful hijinks. Nothing is more important to a leprechaun like Lucky than spreading joy with magic, charms, and laughter!
Where do leprechauns come from?
Originally from Ireland, leprechauns are magical beings that come from fairies and are dedicated to filling this world with a little more joy and magic. Starting life as water fairies, these magical critters have grown into something far more important: a symbol of mischief, troublemaking, and joy.
What does a leprechaun look like?
Usually dressed all in green, leprechauns are also known for their big top hats and great big bushy beards! As a younger leprechaun, Lucky hasn’t quite developed his beard, but give him a few years and it’ll be down to the floor! Their hair ranges from ginger to stark white in their older years. They are usually 3-12 inches in height, making them incredibly hard to catch! However, Lucky himself is 12 inches tall, so he could be an easier target than most.
What does a leprechaun do?
It’s already been stated that leprechauns are all about mischief and spreading joy through their special magic, but they also have another purpose. Leprechauns are often known to hide and guard large pots of gold, which is why catching one leads to riches untold. The only problem is catching them!
