Add a little magic to your day with this simple craft. Making leprechaun masks is a fun and easy way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day — or add a little magic to any rainy afternoon!

Supplies

  • Paper plate
  • Paintbrush
  • Orange paint
  • Green, yellow, and black construction paper
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon or string

Steps

  1. Gather the supplies.
  2. Use a scissors to cut a big circle in the middle of a paper plate.
  3. Paint one side of the paper plate orange and let it dry.
  4. Cut the following pieces out of the construction paper: A green hat, A black rectangle (hat band) and A yellow square with a smaller square cut out of the center (buckle).
  5. Glue the black rectangle onto the green hat for the hat band. Then glue the yellow square on top for the buckle. Attach the hat to the top of the orange paper plate.
  6. Use scissors to make small cuts around the bottom of the plate for the beard.
  7. Use a hole punch to punch a hole on each side of the beard. Cut 2 pieces of ribbon long enough to tie around your child’s head with a bow at the back. Thread each ribbon through the holes and tie knots to secure it.
